Earth's soil carbon reservoir poses massive risk to climate change mitigation

Management of soil carbon plays a critical role in achieving healthy soils, increasing production volume as well as resilience to climate change. It is estimated that implementing practices to conserve soil organic carbon can increase yearly food production by 17.6 megatonnes.
