Soils store & filter water: Resilience to floods and drought

Healthy soils are important in the supply of clean water and ensuring increase resilience to floods and drought. Healthy soils can store water, making it available for absorption by crops, and thus minimizing surface evaporation and maximizing water use efficiency and productivity while filtering pollutants. Soil organic matter can absorb ~20 times its weight in water. To read more about improving soil moisture click here.
