Solar Milk Cooling with Insulated Milk Cans
In many countries milk is exclusively being produced by small and medium sized dairy farms. The milk is in many cases stored on farms and transported to collection facilities without cooling. Due to lack of hygiene and cleaning procedures as well as problems with cattle health, high bacterial growth can occur. In response to this issue The University of Hohenheim developed a solar powered milk cooling system. The system is aimed at increasing the productivity and preservation of milk quality enabling farms to access price premiums and additional markets. Read more here.
