Freshwater Aquaculture
Freshwater aquaculture is a relatively new subject in the agriculture sector and sometimes overlooked. It is a fast growing sector with a lot of growth potential. The practice can be used to produce fish as a food source (commercial or small scale) or in aquaponics (commercial or small scale) where the fish is only used to fertilise vegetables and to keep the water clean. Aquaculture production can make a great contribution to food security, job creation and towards reducing our carbon footprint.
