The African Agri Council Seeks Bankable Projects in Agri-Food Sector

The African Agri Council (AAC) is calling for submissions from businesses with bankable projects in the African agri-food sector. The AAC is particularly interested in projects that promote transformation, sustainability, and scalability across the agricultural value chain.

These projects will be presented to our investors during the annual African Agri Investment Indaba, taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on 18 - 20 November 2024

What Investors Are Looking For:
• Focus on Value Chain Development: This year, the AAC is prioritizing projects that strengthen any part of the agricultural value chain, such as storage, warehousing, logistics, or processing. These projects should target products destined for domestic or export markets.
• Strategic Locations for Market Access: The AAC will prioritize projects situated in locations that offer easy access to target markets. This ensures the project's products can reach their intended consumers efficiently.
• Financial Solutions: In addition to a strong business plan, the AAC is looking for projects that can offer various financial solutions to investors. This could include debt financing, equity financing, or even development financing.
• Impact on Market Presence and Food Security: The AAC emphasizes projects that will have a positive impact on both market presence and food security. This means the project should contribute to making African agricultural products more available in the market while also improving food security on the continent.
• Scalable and Replicable Models Investors are looking for projects with scalable and replicable business models. This means the project's success can be easily replicated in other regions or even across the entire continent. This increases the potential reach and impact of the project.
Project Requirements:
• Investment required: $50,000 - $1,000,000+
• Minimum of 3 years of proven achievement
• Capital efficiency
• Demonstrable market opportunity
• Sound business plan
